UP BEAT !

AS PART OF INCREASE IN POLICING as reported in ISSUES No 83, the new local beat officer for Christchurch Ward has been appointed.  She is Pc Tina Stewartson, and has started pounding the beat round the ward.  Also appointed is Joanna  Grimshaw, the new community safety warden. She will start in March, and will become a familiar face in both Christchurch and Onslow where she will also be working. This is part of the Safer Guildford Partnership, and is part funded by the Home Office.  

Both of these women  will be getting to know residents and will be there to help you.  The Issues team wishes them well.

RECYCLING

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE RESIDENTS who recycled their Christmas trees, 1,000 more than last year.  4,432 have been turned into mulch for use in our parks.

Please continue to use the Green Boxes – all the ward should have them by the end of March – and the recycling banks for plastics. The nearest ones are at the Civic amenity tip at Slyfield and  Sainsbury’s Burpham,  where a further one is to be placed within the next few weeks to meet your increasing demand.

BUS PERMITS

FROM APRIL CONCESSIONARY BUS PERMITS will be available directly by post, and once the new system is set up, there will be no forms to complete and the permit will be delivered direct to the door.
