STOKE PARK TREES
HAVE BEEN PLANTED as a screen along side the Wey Valley Indoor
Bowls Club on Stoke Park. On a very wet day, Andrew Hodges joined the Parks ground
staff and representatives of the bowls Club and Surrey County Show
and joined in the community tree planting.

PROTECTION OF RESIDENTS waiting for buses near Bladon Close has been improved. Following complaints from residents, Andrew Hodges arranged for the bus shelter to be altered so that is offered protection from inclement weather. This has significantly increased the comfort for waiting passengers.
BOXGROVE THE NEW APPLICATION, now for 21 houses at Boxgrove School has been received by the Council. Objections are already being strongly made. Andrew Hodges is paying close attention to them.

David Hunter keeping in touch writes : The Slyfield incinerator concern has not gone away despite the elections. Let us remember that it is the economics which will determine the final result. A smaller unit will not be economic. I would suggest that all waste from outside our Borough should be delivered by rail and all the resultant ash to be removed by rail. That would certainly be uneconomic. . With my close involvement with the local Mediation Service and observations around our ward, it is noticeable that certain types of business are being run from houses, not the odd room, but businesses using the land around houses. This certainly causes neighbourhood disputes. . The other observation is how certain developers keep plugging away to win their way despite local objections. If we are to have maximum usage of land, let there be building for affordable housing fro those we desperately need in our borough. .
