Conservative Councillor PHASE FOUR PARKING T HE PLANS HAVE BEEN REVISITED. As a result phase four has been split into two parts. Those affected should have receiveda letter from the Council. The Ennismore Avenue elements will proceed; roads between Epsorn Road and Warren Road will remain unchanged; the Cranley Road area is deferred for further consultation together with considering other roads upto Boxgrove Road which will continue into next year. YVONNE ARNAUD T HE BOROUGH COUNCIL HAS AGREED TO FUND FURTHER THE YVONNE ARNAUD THEATRE. UnfortunatelyGuildford Conservatives' move to give the public the opportunity to support the level of funding through the Citizens' Panel was blocked by the Liberal Democrats, leaving the uncertainty of Council funding for the theatre uncertain. STOKE PARK T HE MANAGEMENT PLAN PROPOSALS referred to in ISSUES no 75 came as a principle to committee in July, but weredeferred due to time. Andrew Hodges waspleased to receive comments from residents and is hopeful that a realistic plan, if there needs to be one is of a scaled down and realistic nature. |
PLANNING T HE APPLICATION TO MAKE MARKHAM HOUSE INTO LANESBOROUGH SCHOOL is proceeding, and local concerns over on site site parking have been addressed with sorne success.
THE APPLICATION AT 111/115 Epsom Road has been rejected and a reduced plan is awaited. THE APPLICATION AT ELMDON, London Road, for houses at the rear needs scaling down to be acceptable locally. Andrew Hodges maintains a keen interest is the progress of these contentious applications.
